During a snowstorm, the Public Works employees are working hard to make your streets safe. We plow curb to curb wherever possible.
Whenever snow has fallen and the accumulation is such that it covers the street or highway, no vehicle shall be parked on the following streets or portions thereof:
  Stone Road
  South Avenue
  Broadway Avenue
  Atlantic Avenue 'East and West'
  Chestnut Avenue
  Park Avenue
  Lakeview Avenue
  Tomlinson Avenue

Borough trucks may plow your street several times and as the snow rolls off the plows it sometimes accumulates in driveways. Please understand that this is unavoidable and it does become the homeowner's responsibility to clear it.
Here are some helpful hints to make snow removal less frustrating:
Shovel snow to the right side of your driveway (facing the street) to minimize the amount of snow entering your driveway. If possible, wait until the borough trucks have made at least three passes on your street before cleaning your driveway.
Fire Hydrants are easily covered by plowed snow. If you know there is a fire hydrant on or near your property, home or business that is covered with snow, please take the time to at least expose the hydrant below the hose connections to give the Fire Department access.
