Trash & Recycling

The dark blue containers are for food and non-recyclable type trash 

The royal blue containers are for Recycling only - Please be careful to not contaminate the recycling stream with trash.  The Borough gets extra charges for this.  

After 6 pm Sundays, place the carts at the Curb at least four feet apart and away from parked cars, wheels toward the curb

All items must be placed inside the proper cart and the lid closed. ITEMS PLACED OUTSIDE THE CARTS WILL NOT BE COLLECTED

Single stream recycling allows you to combine the following types of recyclable material in the royal blue containers:

Glass bottles and jars - Cardboard boxes - #1 and #2 plastics - Newspapers, mail, magazines, office/school papers, phone books - Aluminum and metal cans

 

NONE of the following can go into the recycling carts:

Pizza Boxes - Plastic groceries bags - Styrofoam - DVD’s or Tapes - Syringes, aerosols, aluminum trays and foil - windows, mirrors, light bulbs, drinking glass, Pyrex, ceramics, vases - Paint, pesticides, oil, cleaners - Organic trash - Scrap Metal - furniture

 

The carts are Borough property and MUST remain with the residence any time there is a change in ownership. They are marked with a serial number cross-referenced with the address of each residence. Public Works can lend out loaner carts on an as needed basis
