Trash or Recycling
Residents can call the Magnolia Public Works Department at
(856) 784-6162. Call on the day of collection, if your sure the truck has missed your house.
PLEASE NOTE: The Magnolia Public Works Department does not pick up commercial waste, liquid waste, commercial construction debris, medical waste or any other hazardous materials. During snow emergencies, residents may experience disruption in their on-time refuse and recycling collection service.
Public Works
Help our community stay clean and green on trash collection day and throughout the week. Trash and recyclable materials should be placed at the curb between 7:00 PM the night before collections and 7:00 AM on the collection day. Please respect your neighbors by removing the empty containers by 7:00 PM that day.

For very large amounts of brush the Borough truck can be rented for $50 (contact Borough Hall at (856) 784-0500 Mon - Thurs).
Large landscape buckets can be borrowed from Public Works for brush (call (856) 784-1477).
Please make sure that all trash cans used for brush have drain holes in their bottom so that they do not fill with water.
Help keep our streets clean, please do not place any loose yard waste in the street.
Recycling
Recycling is the law in New Jersey. Residents, schools, institutions, agencies, and all commercial businesses must recycle.

Picked up by the Borough of Magnolia
Recycling of bottles, cans, #1 and #2 plastics and newspapers, etc. will be picked up every Monday.

Glass, aluminum, tin and plastics #1 and #2, newspapers, white paper, magazines and corrugated cardboard (small enough to fit in container) should be placed in the designated yellow recycling containers provided by the Borough. Paper and cardboard no longer need to be separated from glass, aluminum and plastic.

Acceptable single stream materials included: aluminum food and beverage containers; clear, brown and green glass containers; ferrous cans (i.e., soup, coffee, etc.); #1 and #2 plastic containers (i.e., milk, water jugs, detergent and shampoo containers); old newspaper (including Sunday inserts), craft paper bags, corrugated containers, soda/beer wrappers, six-pack containers, cereal boxes, pizza boxes and magazines.

Unacceptable commingled materials include coat hangers, plastic bags, pots and pans, metal household items, #3 and above plastics, ceramics, light bulbs, dishes, drinking glasses, mirrors, window glass, antifreeze bottles, used oil containers, syringes, buckets, laundry baskets and 5-gallon containers.

- Appliances and bulk metal are picked up on your regular recycling day per the "Town Calendar".

Place items curbside. Doors from appliances (i.e., refrigerators) should be removed prior to placing the item curbside.

Yard waste is collected every other Monday for each side of town except during the fall leaf collection months (November & December).

Check the "Town Calendar" for your dates. (The lake side is the west side, the White Horse pike side is the east side.

Place curbside in open containers or tied bundles (weighing less than 50 pounds).

Plastic bags are not a suitable container and will not be collected.

Any container with trash mixed in with yard waste will not be collected, call the Public Works to resolve the issue.

Cut and tie brush into bundles no longer than 4-foot and no heavier than 50 pounds.

Passenger car tires are considered trash - place one tire per week out with your trash.

Motor oil is not collected by the Borough. Do not drop motor oil off at the Public Works Facility. Pep Boys will accept used oil.

Car batteries can be brought to the Public Works Facility.

Rake leaves into the street - Do not place piles in the area between the curb and sidewalk..

Leaves should be raked into one or two large piles rather than several small piles

Please do not bag leaves.
We cannot pick up bagged leaves.

Please do not mix brush or vines with leaves. During November and December, the Public Works Department does not pick up brush.

Brush and vegetative matter will be picked up once in November and once in December - Check the "Town Calendar" for dates.
